In the first 66 seconds of play tonight, Salado and Robinson both put up touchdowns, combining for 28 points in less than six minutes of play in a raucous and turnover-ridden slugfest at Rocket Field where the Eagles held on for a 33-24 district win.
Hitchcock holds off Salado fourth quarter surge

Hitchcock Bulldogs scored on the last play of the first half and on their first possession of the second half, which gave them enough of a cushion to withstand a 21-point second half effort by the Salado Eagles and win 35-30 in a neutral game played at Merrill Green stadium in Bryan.

Eagles fall to Boerne Greyhounds 41-7
Salado Eagles lost on the road tonight 41-7 to a talented Boerne Greyhounds team playing their homecoming game.
The pre-district doesn’t get any easier as the Eagles will face the Hitchcock Bulldogs in a neutral location at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 1 in the final pre-district game of the year. The game will be played at the Merrill Green stadium.
Academy hands Eagles 37-15 Homecoming loss

The Salado Eagles hosted the Academy Bumblebees in a Homecoming match-up that featured two teams with a mirror-image offensive philosophy. The only noticeable difference was Academy’s Quarterback Kasey Mraz is a lefty. A packed Eagles Stadium was rocking as these two rivals, whose stadiums sit about 10 miles apart as the eagle flies, squared off in an east Bell County showdown.

2022 Homecoming King and Queen Crowned
Salado High School crowned its 2022 Homecoming King and Queen during the halftime of the Salado Eagles football game against the Academy Bees on Sept 16. Eagles fall to Malakoff in double overtime

A game which started out looking like a Salado Eagles romp ended up being more like a late-November heavyweight playoff match-up. The Malakoff Tigers, ranked #7 in Class 3A, rallied from a two touchdown fourth quarter deficit to pull out a thrilling 29-27 Double Overtime win over Salado Friday at Panther Stadium in Hewitt.

Eagles beat Bryan Rudder 38-28

Drew Bird’s interception of Bryan Rudder quarterback Xavier Ramirez’s pass at the Salado 43 yard line with 5:54 left in the game led to a 38-yard Daniel Chtay field goal with 2:59 left to play, giving the Eagles a 38-28 win on the road.
Eagles blow out Fredericksburg 53-17 in season opener

Salado Eagles looked as if they have been running the spread for years, not mere weeks, dismantling the visiting Battlin’ Billies from Fredericksburg to begin Tom Westerberg’s return to his hometown on a Friday night with fans spilling out of the stands onto the lawn of the venerable Eagle Stadium.
The Eagles sent the Billies home with a 53-17 licking.
