Salado Lady Eagles won the Academy volleyball tournament to improve to 23-4 on the season. As of presstime, the girls are seventh in the 4A TGCA poll.

Salado Lady Eagles went 7-1, losing in the semi-finals of the Gold Bracket in the Leander-Georgetown-East View volleyball tournament Aug. 15-17. The tourney had 20 teams competing. The 9-1 Lady Eagles are ranked #5 in 4A volleyball by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.

Salado Lady Eagles beat 6A Stony Point Tigers on the road in five sets, 25-21, 20-25, 15-25, 25-22 and 15-9 to start their season Aug. 12. Elsie Law led the girls with 11 kills while Mazzy Johnson and Kael Wilcox each had 10 kills. Johnson led the girls with 21 digs and Shelby Hollywood had 17.
