Salado seventh grade A Eagles swept the Salado Middle School basketball tournament by beating Gateway 47-17, Gatesville 33-31 in overtime and Lorena 30-18 on Jan. 21.

Noah Self hit a two-pointer with 30 seconds left in the Salado Eagles’ district match-up with Robinson Rockets to put Salado up 55-54 and Darius Wilson sealed the game by hitting both of his free throws with 4 seconds left Jan. 13. as Salado won 57-54.

Salado Eagles lost two non-district basketball games last week.

Salado varsity Eagles split their non-district basketball games last week, beating Rogers 55-43 and losing to East View, 73-45. The boys will travel to Rockport for the Coach K Tournament Dec. 27-28.

Salado Eagles won two of their five games in the Coach Smith Memorial Tournament Dec. 8-10 in the SHS gyms.

Salado Eagles lost to Lake Belton in their final game of District play, falling 64-55 on Feb. 15. The loss gave Salado a 6-4 district record, which was good enough for second place since the Eagles had two wins over Jarrell, which was also 6-4 in district play.
