Jacquelyn “Jackie” Yarbrough Jackson Beckham age 82, of Salado passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at her residence.
Funeral Services for Jackie were held at July 23, at Heritage Country Church in Salado with Pastor Billy Borho officiating. Her burial followed at Cedar Valley Cemetery in Salado.
Salado aldermen July 21 unanimously approved pursuing a development agreement with QT South LLC relating to the annexation of a 5.87 acre tract of land located at the northwest corner of the FM 2484 and I-35.
The Oklahoma based company is proposing to construct a Quick Trip Travel Center on a vacant tract of land currently located in the Village of Salado’s E-T-J.

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar is reminding shoppers they can save money on clothes and school supplies during the state’s sales tax holiday on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 5-7.
To kick off the start of Salado’s Music Friendly Community journey, a free concert will be held for the public 6:30 p.m. July 28 featuring Kristyn Harris at the Salado Civic Center Gazebo. There will be food trucks on the grounds: Rossler’s Blue Cord BBQ, Bob’s Best Corndogs, Sunnie Life Sno Cones and Happy Hut. Bring your own chair to sit in the shade of the giant oaks around the Lions Club Gazebo on the grounds of the Salado Civic Center. No alcohol is allowed on the property. Kristyn Harris (above) is noted for her shimmering vocals, solid swing rhythm guitar style, unique songwriting, award winning yodel, and captivating stage presence. At 27 years, she is the youngest person in history to be awarded the International Western Music Association Entertainer of the Year, which she received four years in a row (2016-2019), and her latest album was most recently awarded the prestigious Wrangler Award from the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Services for Kevin Michael Edwards will be held Saturday, July 23, 10:00 am at Broecker Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Robert Pendergraft, officiating. Burial follows in Salado Cemetery.
