Steven “Pineapple” Ribeiro passed away at the age of 75 at his Salado home on July 8, 2002.
A graveside service for Wilda Mae Dennis Crews, formerly of Salado, will be held at 9:30 a.m. July 18, 2022 at Salado Cemetery. Chett Haynes will officiate the service. She passed away on July 8, 2022.
Wilda Mae Dennis Crews was born on April 4, 1936, to John Raymond and Laverta Mae Bridges Dennis in Dallas, Texas. She grew up in the Dallas area with two brothers and one sister. She suffered polio as a child and did not allow the trauma of a terrible disease to define who she was. She attended Dallas area schools including Forest High School. Her family and church were the center of her world and for the last 12 years she enjoyed worship and fellowship at First Baptist Church, Lancaster, Texas.
Service for Reuben J. Sequeira will be on Friday, July 8, 3:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church, Salado. Interment will be at Lakeside Memorial, Folsom, CA, on Friday, July 15 with a memorial service on Saturday, July 16.
James “Jim” Winston Brock, 88, of Salado, passed away Saturday July 2nd, at home surrounded by family.
Services are scheduled at First Baptist Church Belton on Thursday July 7th, Reverend Andy Davis officiating. The family will be welcoming guests for visitation at the church at Noon, followed by the service at 1:00 PM. He will be laid to rest at Salado Cemetery with military honors following the service.
Jacob “Big Jake” Michael Williams, 35, of Dayton, Texas, passed away unexpectedly, on Monday, June 27, 2022. He was born on April 15, 1987, in Georgetown, Texas, to Michael Howard Williams and Gay Bowers Williams. While in high school, Jacob made the decision to be baptized in the Church of Christ he attended.
Throughout his childhood and high school, Jacob earned his Eagle Scout. During that time, he learned survival skills and valuable tools that he used on numerous occasions. Jacob graduated from Salado High School, in Salado, Texas, the class of 2005. He attended Stephen F. Austin State University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and public administration. Jacob worked as a sales representative for Sherman Williams. During this time, he received several awards for his various accomplishments within the company.
Services for (Retired Army Captain) Timothy E. Sawyer, 75, of Salado will be held at a later date with Young’s Daughters Funeral Home.
Eloise Kay Smith of Salado was born December 10, 1942, in Woodward, Oklahoma to Darrell and Phyllis Gibson. She passed away on June 6, 2022.
She graduated from Jackson’s Private School.
Eloise met Dorman at her parent’s café while Dorman was a student at Texas Tech University. They married January 28, 1961.
Donald Leslie Dady, 88, of Temple, TX entered into the very presence of God on Saturday, June 4, 2022. He was born on September 18, 1933 to Harry and Jane Dady in Santa Ana, CA. Don accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age and took Proverbs 3:5-6 as his life verse: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Don put his trust in the Lord and the faithfulness of God was unmistakable all throughout his life!
The earth lost a vivacious, intelligent, enthusiastic woman on May 20, 2022, in the form of Sue Taylor Vest.
Morris “Buck” Buckman was born in McPherson, Kansas on June 17, 1920, to Glenn Buckman and Bessie Ring Buckman.
He passed away in Austin on May 13, 2022.
