Salado Lady Eagles are alone at the top of District 24-4A with a 3-0 record after sweeping the #3-ranked Gateway College Prep Lady Gators on their home court Sept. 20.
The win moves Salado back into the top 10 rankings this week by the Texas Girls Coaches Association, where they are ranked #8 with a 26-6 record, 3-0 in district as of presstime on Sept. 24.

Salado Lady Eagles ran in the McNeil Invitational Cross Country meet Sept. 20. This meet provided a preview of the UIL state course. The varsity girls ran against a talented field of runners from state ranked 4A and 3A teams.

Salado handled the visiting Jarrell Lady Cougars in three sets Sept. 13, 25-12, 25-21 and 25-9.
Haley Brown had three aces to lead Salado. Also scoring aces were Mazzy Johnson, two and Charli Niu, Macy Morris, Shelby Hollywood, one each.
Kael Wilcox had nine kills to lead Salado, followed by Brown, eight, Morris, six, Elsie Law, five, Johnson, four, Niu, three, and Kate Maedgen, one.
Law and Johnson had two blocks, followed by Niu, Morris and Brown, one each.
Niu made 26 assists to lead Salado, followed by Morris, two and Hollywood, Maedgen, Karlee Konarik and Lola Haas, one each.
Brown made seven digs to lead the Lady Eagles. Also recording digs were Niu, six, Morris, five, Hollywood, Wilcox and Maedgen, four each, Kaylee Bragg, three, Johnson and Konarik, two each and Law, one.

Giddings: Friday the 13th would prove to be in the Eagles’ favor on the night. The Salado Eagles came into Friday night’s non-district contest 0-2, but their complete effort of football on offense and defense would show otherwise. The Eagles lost the coin toss and kicked off to start the game with the Buffaloes receiving. The Giddings Buffaloes expected to drive the field and score first. The Eagles defense played tough, stingy and sure tackling in the first Giddings offensive series and got the football for the Eagles offense.
