Fort Hood announced the death of a Soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. The soldier was killed January 8, 2009 in Maywand, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when his dismounted patrol was hit by an improvised explosive device.

FORT HOOD, Texas – Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier that was found in his barracks room dead Jan. 1, 2009.
Glenda Kay (Barton) Bush passed away August 12, 2022 at her home in Salado, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.
Sheila Marie Mohler, age 59, of Salado passed away on Wednesday. August 10, 2022.
Terry Dean Crawford, age 71, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 after a long and valiant struggle with several chronic health conditions.
Jacquelyn “Jackie” Yarbrough Jackson Beckham age 82, of Salado passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at her residence.
Funeral Services for Jackie were held at July 23, at Heritage Country Church in Salado with Pastor Billy Borho officiating. Her burial followed at Cedar Valley Cemetery in Salado.
Services for Kevin Michael Edwards will be held Saturday, July 23, 10:00 am at Broecker Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Robert Pendergraft, officiating. Burial follows in Salado Cemetery.

Steven “Pineapple” Ribeiro passed away at the age of 75 at his Salado home on July 8, 2002.
A graveside service for Wilda Mae Dennis Crews, formerly of Salado, will be held at 9:30 a.m. July 18, 2022 at Salado Cemetery. Chett Haynes will officiate the service. She passed away on July 8, 2022.
Wilda Mae Dennis Crews was born on April 4, 1936, to John Raymond and Laverta Mae Bridges Dennis in Dallas, Texas. She grew up in the Dallas area with two brothers and one sister. She suffered polio as a child and did not allow the trauma of a terrible disease to define who she was. She attended Dallas area schools including Forest High School. Her family and church were the center of her world and for the last 12 years she enjoyed worship and fellowship at First Baptist Church, Lancaster, Texas.
Service for Reuben J. Sequeira will be on Friday, July 8, 3:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church, Salado. Interment will be at Lakeside Memorial, Folsom, CA, on Friday, July 15 with a memorial service on Saturday, July 16.
