Eagles make Friday 13th horrifying for Giddings

Giddings: Friday the 13th would prove to be in the Eagles’ favor on the night. The Salado Eagles came into Friday night’s non-district contest 0-2, but their complete effort of football on offense and defense would show otherwise. The Eagles lost the coin toss and kicked off to start the game with the Buffaloes receiving. The Giddings Buffaloes expected to drive the field and score first. The Eagles defense played tough, stingy and sure tackling in the first Giddings offensive series and got the football for the Eagles offense.

Eagles lose to Troy 52-28 in season opener

In a renewed rivalry game, Troy took advantage of turnovers and special teams play to beat the hosting Salado Eagles 52-28 at Eagle Stadium Aug. 30.

The game was very competitive in the first half, despite the Trojans capitalizing on two turnovers.

Lady Eagles go 7-1 in Leander-Georgetown-East View tournament

Salado Lady Eagles went 7-1, losing in the semi-finals of the Gold Bracket in the Leander-Georgetown-East View volleyball tournament Aug. 15-17. The tourney had 20 teams competing. The 9-1 Lady Eagles are ranked #5 in 4A volleyball by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.
