Village administrator Don Ferguson will retire on Dec. 31. He informed Mayor Michael Coggin and the board of aldermen in an email at about 10 a.m. Aug. 7.
He intended to announce his retirement at the Aug. 3 board meeting which was canceled due to lack of a quorum.
“It has been an honor and a privilege for me, and I appreciate the opportunity to serve you and our community in this capacity,” Ferguson stated in his letter to aldermen.

Lois Audrey (Allen) Click passed away on July 24, 2023 in Fort Worth, the place she called home since arriving here during the Dust Bowl in the early 1930s. Her daughter Marilyn Fleischer, her grandson Paul Cornelius and her granddaughter Natalie Miller were with her at the time of her death in the early morning hours.

Salado Bats are the 12U State Runners-Up, falling to the Groesbeck Swamp Donkeys 4-2 tonight at Crossroads Park in Temple in the Texas Teenage Baseball-Softball Association state tournament finals.

Salado Bats 12U baseball team will be playing in the finals of the Texas Teenage Baseball-Softball Association state tournament at 7p.m. tonight (Fri. July 14) at the Crossroads Park (1020 Research Parkway, Temple).
To get there, the Bats have gone 3-1 in the tournament, losing 13-7 to Groesbeck in the second round on May 12 and then beating the Temple Dodgers, 12-1, the Teague Lions, 10-2 and the Clifton Cub, 7-1.
The Bats will have to win two games against Groesbeck, which went undefeated in the winners’ bracket.

Salado Water Supply Corporation has moved into Stage 3 Water Restrictions of its Drought Contingency Plan, which requires customers to reduce the number of days and times they water outside to one day per week.
Odd addresses may water between the hours of midnight and 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.-midnight on Tuesdays only.
Even address may water between the hours of midnight and 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.-midnight on Wednesdays only.
